Congratulations to Jill - Our Newly Licensed Parish Pastoral Worker

Many congratulations go to Jill Rawcliffe who has just been licensed as a Pastoral Worker for the Parish of Hoylake.

Jill has been worshiping at St Hildeburgh's Parish Church in Hoylake for a number of years. For the past couple of years, Jill has been training with the Diocese of Chester to become a Pastoral Worker.

Jill has already made her pastoral mark in Hoylake through working closely with local residential and care homes. She has taken a lead in organizing St. Hildeburgh's monthly 'Soup & Sandwich Lunches' for senior citizens and our regular special services in church for care home residents, their families and friends.

Jill has another important role at St. Hildeburgh's through managing and staffing our Church Office several days each week and carrying out many important administrative tasks.

Pictured below are Jill with Bishop Keith of Birkenhead,
local clergy and other pastoral workers

Chester Cathedral in September 2016:

The giving of goods by those at the service
is our way of marking the plenty of Harvest

Small items - such as sweets, packets of biscuits and flowers are taken to elderly folk in the local area
- many of whom live in residential and care homes
or are living on their own.

Larger items - such as tinned food, packets and items that need to be cooked are taken to the ...

Lifeboat Service 2016

It was great to welcome to St Hildeburgh's Parish Church in Hoylake the men and women of Hoylake and West Kirby's RNLI lifeboats on Sunday, 11 September 2016, for our annual Lifeboat Service.

It was fantastic to have a really full church yet again as we honoured the work of the local lifeboat crews and support staff. We were delighted to have the Mayor and Mayoress of Wirral at the service.

The service was led by Rev Paul Rossiter, Vicar of Hoylake and Lifeboat Chaplain, while the preacher was Rev Lyndon Bannon.

The service was followed by a barbecue for the lifeboat men and women (accompanied by members of our church family) in the grounds of Hoylake Vicarage.

Many thanks to the Rev's Gillian and Paul for your hospitality at the Vicarage, and especially to Rev Paul for 'flipping the burgers' on the barbecue!
